What items should you make sure to pack for your pet?

Here is a list of items to make sure to have for your traveling pet!

  • Food. Whether you make your pet their own food, or purchase food from the store, you don’t want them to get hungry!

  • Treats. Reward that good pet!

  • Feeding bowls. Of course, you could use regular bowls, but something to hold food for your pet is useful!

  • Blanket or bed. You want your special pet to feel at home, and them feeling safe and being comfortable is important.

  • Leash. To make sure you are able to follow policies set in place to have your pet leashed at all times.

  • Harness. Harnesses are wonderful to use for leashes, so your pet doesn’t choke themselves!

  • Poo bags. No matter where you are RV parking, or boondocking, do the right thing and pick up that poo! This also goes hand in hand with “leave no trace”.

  • First aid kit. You never know while on the road if your pet may tear a nail, or get a wound, and there may not be a vet office at your immediate disposal.

  • Flashlight. Whether placed on your pets harness or in your hand, it is good to be visible while walking after sundown.

At Aspen Grove RV Park in Tremonton, UT, we are incredibly pet friendly, and have no breed-restrictions. Our only restriction is aggressive pets of any type may be asked to leave if issues arise.

It’s so much fun visiting with our fur guests!

Boy, do we love our fur guests, they are the highlight of our day! We are animal lovers, and very pet-friendly, at Aspen Grove RV Park, and one of our favorite daily to-dos; we must give love to all our furry guests! We have had such an array of fur travelers at our RV park, from kitties, pups, chickens and even a potbelly pig! It fills us with joy to get to meet such neat and loved pets that you take on the road with you! Let’s talk about park etiquette when travelling with pets!

RV Park etiquette when travelling with pets.

The excitement of being able to easily travel with your pets is so important, and having an RV where your pet feels comfortable in their home away from home is special. When travelling, it’s always key to ensure that any park policies in regards to pets are followed, not just out of respect for the establishment or fellow guests, but to ensure the safety of your pet at all times. Box Elder County does have strict leash laws, and consider off-leashed animals as a nuisance, unless in a designated off-leash dog park. Here at Aspen Grove RV Park, we provide an 80’ X 80’ fenced-in dog area where your pets are welcome off leash, but anywhere else in the park, pets, regardless of breed or type, are required to be on a physical leash, with a human at the other end, at all times. This requirement ensures the safety of your pet, so that they do not get hit by a car, take off to roam the town, or get involved in an avoidable dog fight. We want all of our guests, human or furry, to be safe and comfortable.

What do RV Parks expect from pet owners.

First, RV parks expect honesty. If you call an RV park, Aspen Grove RV Park for example, and are asked by the team how many pets are travelling with you, if you have 4, let them know. The last thing you want to do is say you have 1 pet and show up with 9, that may not go over well with some RV Parks. Most of the time, RV parks are looking for the number of pets, not only for their own policies, but to know, in case of an emergency, how many pets may need to be saved. It is very important to share accurate information with RV Parks that you are making reservations with. Second, when parks have specific pet policies in place, they expect guests to follow their policies, to ensure the safety of all guests in the park. Some of the policies may be, but are not limited to, having pets on a physical leash at all times, keeping pet’s noise to a limit, not leaving pets unattended, and always cleaning up after them immediately.
