Etiquette While Camping Anywhere!

Camping is a delightful way to connect with nature, unwind, and create beautiful memories. As campers, it's crucial to follow certain camping etiquette guidelines to ensure a harmonious experience for all. There are certain circumstances where people actually are not aware of these “unsaid” rules, but that’s why you are reading this blog post! Here are some fundamental principles to keep in mind during your stay at Aspen Grove RV Park, or anywhere your next adventure takes you.

1. Respect Quiet Hours

Rest and relaxation are paramount for everyone. Respect others' need for peace during designated quiet hours. Typically, quiet hours begin after 10 PM and continue until early morning. Aspen Grove, specifically, has quiet hours from 10pm-7am. Keep noise to a minimum during this time to promote a serene atmosphere. Your neighbors will not only appreciate it, but will reciprocate the kindness.

2. Keep Your Campsite Clean

Maintaining cleanliness is essential for the wellbeing of your fellow campers and the environment. Properly dispose of trash in designated receptacles. If the park follows a "Leave No Trace" philosophy, take all trash with you when you leave. Leaving a clean campsite not only keeps critters away but also ensures a pleasant experience for the next campers. At Aspen Grove, we have an app that gives you the option for “Trash Pick Up” directly from your site. We know our park is large and some may have walking disabilities, so this is a great way to utilize the tools and staff here at the park!

3. Follow Campfire Safety Protocols

Campfires are an integral part of camping. However, it's crucial to follow safety protocols to prevent accidents. Only build fires in designated fire rings or fire pits, and never leave a fire unattended. Ensure fires are fully extinguished before retiring for the night or leaving the campsite. Remember to check for any fire restrictions in effect and comply with them.

A big reminder for those coming to our park, the city does not permit us to have wood burning fires. Propane fires are permitted. We do not want to encourage a flame that could create an ember. This can lead to fires being started at other sites. We are a desert and avoiding fires that cannot be controlled is our number one priority.

4. Be Mindful of sharing Amenities and Facilities

Most campgrounds have designated areas, such as family sections or adult-only zones, to cater to diverse camper preferences. Respect these zones and ensure your activities align with the atmosphere guests expect in those areas. If you're unsure about the rules or zoning, inquire with campground staff to avoid any unintentional disruptions. Always be mindful of sharing these spaces as well. We are all trying to have a good time and enjoy the campground together. That means sharing the building and not letting other guests utilize them.

5. Observe Campsite Boundaries

Campsites offer limited space, so it's important to respect the boundaries of your site and your neighbors' sites. Avoid walking through others' campsites unless invited, and ensure belongings and equipment stay within your designated area. Once again, respecting this will more than likely gain you and your site respect as well. If you see others are using your area and making you uncomfortable, addressing this to the camp hosts can get the issue resolved. Being kind does go a long way and we always encourage kindness!

6. Keep Pets Under Control

If you bring your furry friends along, ensure they are well-behaved and under control. Keep them leashed and clean up after them promptly to maintain a sanitary environment. Be mindful of fellow campers who may have allergies or fears of animals. Keep in mind we do love our fur guests and do not have any breed restrictions. With that being said, we have a very strict leash/pet policy put in place to make sure everyone is kept safe and we all enjoy our experience here at the park! Your pets must be leashed and attended to at all times. We do have a wonderful dog area that your pets are welcome to be off leash and stretch out their legs! We understand that dogs love to be vocal. All attempts to make sure they are quiet is always appreciated by all guests at the park.
